Business Skills Migration

The business skills visa category caters for people who are owners or part owners of a business, senior executives, and applicants interested in investing in State or Territory securities. Applicants must apply for a provisional business visa first. After having successfully operated a business in Australia for 2-4 years, the applicant will be eligible to apply for a permanent business skills visa.

Business Skills provisional

Business Owner 160 - This visa is for business owners from overseas who intend to own a business in Australia, and are less than 45 years of age.

State / Territory Sponsored Business Owner 163 - This visa is for business owners from overseas who intend to own a business in Australia, and are less than 55 years of age.

Senior Executive 161 - This visa is for senior executives from overseas who through their experience, have gained the skills to successfully manage a business in Australia and are less than 45 years of age.

State / Territory Sponsored Senior Exeucitve 164 - This visa is for senior executives from overseas who through their experience have gained the skills to successfully manage a business in Australia and are less than 55 years of age.

Investor (Provisional) 162 - This visa is for investors / business people from overseas who are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for four years and are less than 45 years of age.

State / Territory Sponsored Investor 165 - This visa is for investors / business people from overseas who are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for four years and are less than 55 years of age.

Business Skills - Talent - 132 - This visa is for high calibre business people from overseas who are less than 55 years of age.

Business Skills Residence

Business Owner 890 - This visa is for business owners from overseas who have held one of the required provisional visas.

State / Territory Sponsored Business Owner 892 - This visa is for people who have an ownership interest in an Australian business and are directly involved in managing that business.

Investor (Residence) 891 - This visa is for investors from overseas who are willing to make a designated investment in Australia.

State / Territory Sponsored Investor (Residence) 893 - This visa is for investors who are willing to make a designated investment in Australia.

Established Business in Australia 845 - This visa is for business people who have established a business in Australia while they are in Australia on a temporary visa other than a bridging visa or a criminal justice visa.

State / Territory Sponsored Regional Established Business in Australia 846 - You may be eligible to apply for this visa if you hold a Business (long stay) visa (Subclass 457), and have owned a business in a designated regional area of Australia for at least two years.
