Family Migration

There are a number of migration options for fiancé(e)s, partners, children, parents and other family members of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens.

Partner / Spouse

For those who are married to or intent to marry an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or if you are living with your Australian partner and not married (permanent resident or citizen of Australia) or have lived with your partner at some stage)

Prospective Marriage (Fiancé)

For those who are intending to marry an Australian citizen or permanent resident in Australia.

Interdependency

For applicants who are in same sex relationships.

Child / Adoption / Orphan Relative

For dependent children, orphan relatives or adopted children of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Parent

Parents may be able to migrate to Australia if they have a child in Australia who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Temporary Parent (subclass 870)

The anticipated subclass 870 Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa will be available from 17 April 2019.  The new visa allow parents of migrants in Australia to visit their family on a temporary basis for up to 10 years. Under the new visa, parents of migrants would be able to choose between a three-year visa that comes at a cost of $5,000 and a five-year visa with a $10,000 fee. There will be an opportunity for a single renewal with the number of visas subject to an annual cap of 15,000.

There are no skills assessments needed for these visa categories. It depends entirely on your relationship with an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.
